What this Snapchat video downloader does
Snapchat publishes Spotlight videos and the stories of public profiles on snapchat.com, where anyone can watch them in a browser without an account. There is no download button there. This Snapchat Spotlight downloader reads that public page, finds the video file Snapchat streams, and gives you a button to save it as an MP4.
It works only on content Snapchat itself makes public. Snaps sent to you, chats and friends-only stories never reach the web, and the tool says so plainly instead of pretending.
How it works
Snapchat's website is built so each public page carries its data in a block of structured JSON. For a Spotlight, that data includes the video's address, thumbnail, creator and caption. For a public profile, it includes each snap in the current public story. A small server function requests the page as a normal logged-out visitor, reads that block and returns the media addresses. Your browser then previews and downloads the file from Snapchat's media servers.
Snapchat's media links are signed and can expire. If a download fails after a while, paste the link again.

In the Snapchat app
On a Spotlight, tap the share arrow on the right, then Copy Link. For a creator's public story, open their profile, tap the three dots, then Share Profile → Copy Link.

Respecting creators and Snapchat's terms
Downloading a Spotlight doesn't give you any rights to it. Personal offline viewing is one thing. Reposting it to TikTok or Reels, or using it in an ad, needs the creator's permission. Snapchat's terms also restrict automated collection, so download personally and sparingly. This tool never touches private content and never asks for a login.
Privacy
The link you paste goes to a server function that reads the public page and returns media addresses. Nothing is stored: no links, no files, no history. You never enter a Snapchat username or password.
