LinkedIn profile picture downloader
Paste a linkedin.com/in/ link and save the profile photo LinkedIn shows to the public. If the photo is private or LinkedIn blocks the request, you are told exactly that.
Works with linkedin.com/in/username links or a bare username. Public photos only. Banners are not available logged out.
The photo belongs to its owner. Do not reuse it publicly without permission.
4 steps, no signup
- 01
Copy the profile link
Open the profile and copy the address, which looks like
linkedin.com/in/username. In the app, tap More (or the three dots) and choose Share via then Copy. - 02
Paste it above
Paste the link, or just the username, and press Get photo.
- 03
Check the result
If the member shows their photo publicly, you see it with its size. If not, the tool tells you exactly why.
- 04
Download
Press Download to save the JPG, the same file LinkedIn shows logged-out visitors.
Short answer: paste a linkedin.com/in/ link above and press Get photo. If the member's photo is set to public, you get the 200 x 200 pixel JPG that LinkedIn shows logged-out visitors, with a Download button. Private photos and banners are not available. LinkedIn sometimes turns these requests away at busy times, so a lookup can fail and need a retry.
What this tool does, and what it will not do
LinkedIn has no button for saving someone else's profile photo. This LinkedIn profile picture downloader takes a public profile link, reads the page LinkedIn serves to people who are not signed in, and finds the photo LinkedIn itself publishes in that page's preview data. That is the same image a link preview shows when someone shares the profile in a chat app.
Most competing tools promise "HD" photos and banner downloads. We tested what a logged-out request actually gets in November 2026, and the honest answer is narrower:
- The profile photo is available at 200 x 200 pixels when the member shows it publicly.
- Larger sizes exist, but each size has its own signed link. Swapping the size in the address returns an access error, so we do not offer a fake "HD" button.
- The banner (cover photo) is not in the logged-out page at all. No logged-out tool can fetch it honestly.
How it works
Your link goes to a small server function. It checks that the address is a personal profile, requests the public page with an ordinary browser identity, and reads the og:image tag, the image LinkedIn sets for previews. If that image is a profile photo, you get it. If LinkedIn answers with a sign-in wall or a rate-limit response, the tool reports that instead of guessing. It never uses cookies, accounts or session tokens.

Troubleshooting
| Message | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "No public photo" | No photo, or photo visibility set to members, network or connections | Nothing to do. Ask the person if you need it |
| "LinkedIn refused the request" | LinkedIn rate limiting, which hits cloud servers harder at busy times | Wait a few minutes and retry. It may still fail |
| "LinkedIn showed a sign-in wall" | LinkedIn hid the profile from logged-out visitors, often temporarily | Retry later. The tool will not sign in |
| "LinkedIn did not respond" | The request timed out or LinkedIn returned an error | Try again in a minute |
| "No public profile exists" | Wrong or changed username | Copy the link again from the profile |
| Photo is small | The public version is 200 x 200 | Ask the person for a full-size headshot |
Privacy settings this tool respects
LinkedIn members control who sees their photo from their own profile: click Me, then View profile, then Edit public profile & URL, and change the profile photo visibility (LinkedIn Help). The options are 1st-degree connections, your network, all LinkedIn members, or the public. If you are reading this because you want your own photo kept out of tools like this, choose anything other than public. Logged-out visitors, and this tool, then see only a placeholder.
Copyright and LinkedIn's terms
A profile photo is personal data and usually someone's copyrighted image. Use a downloaded photo for private, reasonable purposes: putting a face to a name, an internal guest list, a speaker bio the person has approved. Do not use it for fake profiles, ads, lead databases or anything that implies endorsement. LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits scraping and bulk collection, which is why this tool handles one profile at a time and keeps nothing. This tool is independent and not affiliated with LinkedIn. This is not legal advice.
