How do I download a ShareChat video?
Open the post in ShareChat, tap Share and copy the link, then paste it into the box above and press Get video. The tool reads the public post page and hands you the MP4 file ShareChat itself serves, which you can save to your phone and post to WhatsApp status. No app or login is needed. Moj links don't work yet.
What this ShareChat video downloader does
ShareChat is where a lot of India finds its daily status videos: good morning wishes, devotional clips, shayari, festival greetings and songs, in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and many other languages. The app has a share button, but what you often want is the plain video file on your phone, so you can post it as your WhatsApp status, send it in a family group, or keep it for later.
Paste the link to a public ShareChat post here and the ShareChat video downloader gives you that file. Photo posts work too.
How it works
Every public ShareChat post has a web page at sharechat.com/post/…. That page includes a short, standard description of the post for search engines, and it names the video or image file ShareChat serves. The tool reads that description, finds the file, and lets you preview and save it. It never logs in, never uses your account, and only sees what anyone can see by opening the link in a browser.
The page is built for phones first: the preview is a vertical player, the Download button is big enough to tap, and the file is an ordinary MP4 that WhatsApp, Instagram and every gallery app accept.
Which links work
| Link | Example | Works? |
|---|---|---|
| Post link from the app | sharechat.com/post/QWy0WQq?d=n&ui=… | Yes (extra parts are ignored) |
| Video page link | sharechat.com/video/QEPZEk8 | Yes |
| Photo or shayari image post | sharechat.com/post/… | Yes, full-size image |
| Deleted or removed post | Any | No: "no longer available" |
| Profile or tag page | sharechat.com/profile/… | No: link a single post |
| Moj video | mojapp.in/@user/video/… | Not yet: Moj pages hide the video from logged-out visitors |
Download a ShareChat video on Android
- Open the post in ShareChat, tap Share and choose Copy link. If you only see app icons, share it to yourself on WhatsApp and copy the link from the message.
- Open Chrome, come to this page and tap Paste, then Get video.
- Tap Download. A bar appears at the bottom; tap Open, or find the file later in Files → Downloads.
Download on iPhone
- Copy the post link from the share menu.
- Open this page in Safari. In-app browsers inside WhatsApp or Instagram often block downloads.
- Tap Get video, then Download. Open Files → Downloads, tap the video, tap Share and choose Save Video.
Putting it on your WhatsApp status
- Download the video here first.
- In WhatsApp, open Updates and tap the camera (or the gallery icon) to add a status.
- Pick the downloaded video. WhatsApp lets you trim it if it is longer than the status limit, add text, and post.
If you share someone else's video, keeping their name visible is good manners, and many creators make these clips precisely so people will share them with credit.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "That does not look like a ShareChat post link" | A profile, tag or Moj link, or a cut-off link | Open the single post and copy its link again |
| "This post is no longer available" | Deleted, removed or no longer public | Nothing to recover; look for another copy of the post |
| "Moj links are not supported yet" | Moj pages don't show the video to logged-out visitors | Use the Save option inside the Moj app |
| Video opens and plays instead of saving | An in-app browser is handling the download | Open this page in Chrome or Safari |
| Can't find the downloaded file | It is in Downloads, not Camera | Open your gallery's Downloads album, or Files → Downloads |
Copyright and ShareChat's rules
The person who made a video owns it. Saving a public post for your own status or to watch later is everyday use. Re-uploading it as yours, cutting out the creator's name, or using it to promote a business needs their permission. ShareChat's terms also restrict automated collection, so this tool reads one post at a time, only when you ask, and never touches private or removed posts.

For other short-video apps, try the Snapchat video downloader or the Threads video downloader. If the file is too big to send, shrink it with the video compressor. Every tool is listed on the downloaders hub.
Privacy
The link you paste goes to a small server function that reads the public post page and returns the file address. The preview loads straight from ShareChat's servers and the download is streamed to you without being stored. No files, links, phone numbers or history are kept.
